Artwork
As a visual artist, I like to use a variety of materials and techniques to explore themes of nature and life.

In Time

Upon first glance, this piece is an abstracted Minnesota landscape. But upon exploration, the reflections of the tree line on the water morph into sound waves atop a grid of delicate sheet music hiding underneath layers of color and texture.
36" x 72" mixed media painting on stretched canvas.

An Altered Past

Inspired by a visit to South Korea to study art and design, this piece is a mix of two different printing techniques - one refined and detailed; the other crude and rough. It is a mix of neutral and bold colors. And it is a mix of life and death.
14" x 17" woodcut and etched print on cream BFK paper.

An Ode To Ansel Adams

My own renditions of the photos by Ansel Adams, "Moon and Half Dome" and "Monolith". These pieces have a lot of interesting value contrasts and great texture, all overlaying a collage of sheet music.
11" x 14" mixed media paintings on stretched canvas.

The Art of War

I created this piece for an art auction in support of disabled veterans. Featuring discolored photos from the Vietnam war, missile diagrams, and a quote from "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, this piece represents the chaos of war.
15.75" x 8.5" photo intaglio, etched, and letterpress print on cream BFK paper.

On The Way To Better Things

This is a very personal piece, and the process of creating it was very therapeutic in understanding and overcoming some of my own struggles. Escaping the rough, dark waters of emotional abuse, to feel a fragment of relief in the distance, only to be enveloped once again by the unpredictable tide.
18" x 24" mixed media painting on canvas board.
